Oopsie.

So I was not very good at the whole blogging thing this summer. I hope I am better at keeping everyone updated while I am away. I leave in a little over two weeks, I still have a big to do list, but I am mentally ready. Oh so ready.

This summer has been pretty good to me. I spent a lot of time at the beach and relaxing with friends. I played soccer a few times until my toenail literally came off. I got really into the World Cup for a couple weeks until every team I cheered for was eliminated. I planned on saving some serious money, but then my hours got cut and I worked like twice a week. I DID get more scholarship money and a pretty decent tan, which both hold importance in my life. I started to read EAT, PRAY, LOVE but got bored with it after the Italy chapters. I got to spend some time with my beautiful nieces, (and nephew). They are the coolest. I love them, a lot. I was able to see Rand and Carolyn, which was a major highlight. I went to Monterey with Kevin and his parents. It was a nice break from 100 degree weather. We also ate a TON of great food. I have mostly been anxiously waiting to leave, and as it creeps closer I am surprisingly calm. I now await in the the Greenburg Castle to go on this four month extravaganza.
This Man told me that I should stay away from stupid people. He also said I would be rich. What a Wise Machine.

This is what my backyard will look like someday, after I am rich and have stayed away from stupid people. This is actually Clint Eastwood's hotel/inn. It is in Carmel, which is one of my favorite places. It is seriously beautiful. We ate dinner at his restaurant, I had prawns with fettuccine, and vanilla bean ice cream. Afterwords we stayed and listened to a live pianist who apparently collaborates with Clint on some of his movie soundtracks. He was German and he had a lovely voice.

This is the best Clam Chowder. It makes my heart all warm inside.

More great things to come!

Girl Time.

On Monday Lydia, Delaney, Nicole and I went to Sacramento. We ate some delicious food and shopped. It was soooo much fun NOT buying anything.

No, it really wasn't that bad.

We stopped in Davis and ate at Crepeville for breakfast. They make the best potatoes.

I tried some of Nicole's carrot juice. It tasted like carrots, fresh carrots.

Aw, look at us.

We also stopped at the Dixon fruit market. I got some blackberries and peaches. It was so fresh and delicious.

LOCAL!

After I watched them shop we got to eat at my favorite restaurant, the CHEESCAKE FACTORY.
They have the largest menu ever, and it is all good. I got some chicken pasta. It was a fantastic day and it was fun to get away for a little bit.

All the pictures were taken by Nicole. :)

OREGON

So I have been trying to do this post for like a week but I am kind of slow at figuring things out. I finally was able to upload alll the bajillion pictures I took on our trip.

Kevin and I went to Oregon last weekend and it was so much fun! Molly was a great host and Oregon was beautiful.

The pictures are way out of order. So this is basically my trip backwards.

We went to the ocean and drove over 100 miles down the coast. It was beautiful, and driving that much didn't even phase us because it wasn't 100 miles of sagebrush.

Old Faithful.

The sand dunes are amazing, but after running around I had sand dunes in my shoes.

.

Seeing this was probably the highlight of my trip.

We went to Voodoo Doughnuts. Its a pretty famous doughnut shop in Portland that makes crazy doughnuts. Like these ones...

We got free (almost free) tickets to see a soccer game. I had never been to one before so the whole thing was really exciting. People get really into it. It was the Portland Timber vs. The Boca Jrs. Portland Timbers won with a free kick at the last minute!
We went to Powell's Book Store in Portland. It is a HUGE book store that is like a block long. There are a bunch of different rooms that have different genre's. The books are new and used so I found a book for cheap! No sales tax!
We went to the Saturday Market in Portland. Molly and I had Thai Food, it was my first time, and probably my last. Peanut Sauce? Really?
Kevin had a mini apple pie and a pulled pork Sammich.

On our first full day there we went and explored parks in Eugene. The town has beautiful parks. We ran into this while wandering. Ringo Starr will playing here in August.

We fed the geese/ducks. So VICIOUS. I couldn't even finish giving them my hot dog bun because I was so afraid of them.
We went into the new building on Campus. It's a building specifically for student athletes. U of O loves their athletes.
This was the lecture hall in the Nike Building. Each seat has its own outlet for computers. Each seat is leather. How special.

We ate at a cafe inside the new building. It was very classy. They serve good food too, which is a plus.

Molly's Apartment. It comes with the TV.

I will have to get better at this blogging thing before I leave. Especially since my internet access will be limited and I wont have hours to post.

Festa della MAMMA

I went home on Saturday to celebrate my mommy. We went hiking, even though it was sooo windy. We had some pancakes, leftover pizza, and bbq hamburgers. We watched some myth busters and relaxed in the sun. Overall a very good day. Amo mia Mamma.

The hiking pictures were taken by my mom. I just have a couple things to do before this semester is finished and behind me. I look forward to summertime activities.
